Some of you know Clyde Patton personally. “Offshore” is his nickname, which came from some great learning experiences at industry majors, Diamond Offshore, Attwood Oceanics and that first foundation of Rowan Companies Charles Rowan Jackup. These are where Clyde first cut his oilfield teeth, but it was a true, solid foundation from his father that paved the way to the man he is today. The early experiences in Southern California to farm life in Hugo, Oklahoma, were stepping stones on his life journey and provided the common sense lessons that today guide him. Clyde and his relief rig manager Zachary Mathis, lead the performance driven work on Latshaw Rig 20.
All one has to do is take a quick walk around their rig, starting in the rig office, to see that “Pride in Performance,” is alive and well – even in these challenging market conditions. Clyde instills in his teams that focus and understanding the goals, when combined with good work ethics, are the key tools for success in all endeavors.
Big Star Company man Tracy Cress’s working relationship with Latshaw, is all tied to the professionalism exemplified by the team approach on Rig 20. Clyde tells his crews, “Even in these changing markets, it comes down to the attitude and job you do every day. Stay focused on providing the best you can do!”
Our hats are off to all the crew and leadership on Rig 20. Thank you to everyone, and to Big Star Oil and Gas, LLC for providing the opportunities to help them secure the energy resources that power America.
